Travmo's Top Ten Songs Aug. 16 to Aug. 22, 2010 (Vancouver Vacation & My Bday Week!)

I just realized that my dates are kind of off.  I guess even though I'm posting this week, the music is the songs I listened to last week.  So right now it's my birthday week, but I'm posting the songs of my Vancouver vacation.  Go figure!

1.  Katy Perry - Teenage Dream (W-1,H-1)

I thought this song would be on the charts sooner but it took it's time and then soared to the top spot.  Vancouver was playing it constantly!  Katy Perry is the girl of the summer.  Here is the lyric video!

2.  Enrique Iglesius featuring Pitbull - I Like It (W-3,H-1)

I dance and smile when this song comes on, every time!

3.  Nicki Minaj - Your Love (W-2,H-2)

VANCOUVER IS IN LOVE WITH THIS SONG!

4. Uffie featuring Pharrell - A.D.D. S.U.V. (W-1,H-4)
So I'm dancing in this club in Vancouver and this crazy song comes on and people come out of the woodwork and start dancing.  This guy was totally nice and showed me on his iphone the name of the song and the singers. Enjoy all you U.S.A. people!  Here is some hot Canadian music!  CHECK OUT THIS VIDEO!!!!

5.  Flo Rida featuring David Guetta -
The Club Can't Handle Me (W-2,H-5)
The Canadians are going crazy for this song!

6.  Auburn featuring Lyaz - La La La (W-1, H-6)
I heard this song a couple weeks ago but it's getting heavy rotation in Canada.  A great song!

7.  Taio Cruz featuring Jennifer Lopez - Dynamite (Official Radio Rip Remix) (W-4, H-2)

An already huge Travmo chart topper now just got a splash of one of my favorite stars of the 2000s.  J.Lo remixes Dynamite. LOVE IT!

8.  Maroon 5 - Misery (W-1, H-1)
Typical Maroon 5 song...however, Typical Maroon 5 is also VERY GOOD!  LOVE THIS CATCHY SONG! Fun Video!

9. M.I.A. - XXXO W-2, H-8
This song got a resurgence on the chart based on the fantastic video!

10.
Katy Perry featuring Snoop Dogg - California Gurls W-6, H-1
Had a great time dancing to this in Canada.  Here is a fun live  video of Katy performing on Germany's Next Top Model.  It must be a live show in Germany, like American Idol!

Travmo's Top Ten Songs Aug. 9 to Aug. 15, 2010 (Spokane Vacation)

Key: W=weeks on the chart, H= higest position on the chart

Spokane now has two pop/rnb radio stations and they are LOVING Enrique Iglesius, as well as Nikki Minaj.  And so am I!  They are my top two.  Enrique and Pitbull might be around for awhile!

1.  Enrique Iglesius featuring Pitbull - I Like It (W-2,H-1)
This song is so terrific.  I love that he's back and on top in the US!

2. Nicki Minaj - Your Love (W-1,H-2)
This song finally made it on the list after being on my radar for weeks.  I think it took Spokane radio to take it over the edge.  It's played non-stop in Spokane.  Love the video!

3.  Janelle Monae - Tightrope (W-5,H-2)

One of the most popular songs of the summer, she is charting high with the debut of her new video (which also charted), So You Think You Can Dance performance (the same episode I was on) and...the introduction of her to my dad, who is also impressed.  Here she is LIVE on So You Think You Can Dance!  Go Janelle!

4.  B.o.B featuring Bruno Mars - Nothing On You (W-2,H-4)

B.o.B and Bruno Mars are everywhere.  But it all started with this great song which I had my dad watch the video for this week.  He already knew the song.  Who doesn't!  I love this song!

5.  Janelle Monae - Cold War (W-1,H5)

Janelle's second single of of Archandroid is mesmerizing.  Done in one-take you learn the story of Metropolis while seeing Janelle in pure emotion.

6.  Taio Cruz - Dynamite (W-3,H-2)

Still doing well on the chart although down from his highest charting of 2.  I keep wondering if his first single (Break Your Heart) might have some life in it to chart on my list.  So far it hasn't, but it certainly has the potential if it gets some airplay.

7. Flo Rida featuring David Guetta -
The Club Can't Handle Me (W-1,H-7)

This is the song that I learned the routine for So You Think You Can Dance.  A fun song.  Fitting since this was National Dance Day Week.

8.  Lady Gaga - Boys Boys Boys (W-2,H-8)

They played this at a "gay" club in Spokane (not very gay).  I think it was the only song that truly brought the boys out.

9.  Usher featuring Pitbull - DJ Got Us Falling In Love Again (W-1,H-9)

I'm so not a fan of Usher's face or behavior but there is no denying that Raymond vs. Raymond is an incredible cd (I might need to get it) and with this brand new "dance" song (his first?) he is definitely on the top of my list.  I'm thinking this song will do VERY well on the chart in the next few weeks...

10.  Usher featuring Nicki Minaj - Lil Freak (W-1,H-10)

This dark song was also played at the club in Spokane and although I always liked it, it finally charted this week.  A great week for Usher on the chart! EVERYBODY LOVES RAYMOND! love it.

Travmo's TOP TEN SONGS Aug. 2nd to Aug. 8, 2010

Key: W=weeks on the chart, H= higest position on the chart

Another week of new songs.  Some from the chart before and some new ones.

1.  Agnes - Release Me  W-1, H-1
This song should have  made the chart already as it isn't new but alas it made it now in a big way.  This is such an amazing song and would hate for it never to get to number one since it isn't brand new.  LOVE the power and fun of this song!

2.  Taio Cruz - Dynamite W-2, H-2

This song doesn't seem to let up.  Going strong.  I just got the album this week and the whole cd is fantastic.  It took a week off last week from the chart and came back even stronger!

3.  Gilbere Forte' - I Know My Love W-1, H-3
This brand new song which I found on Sinternet.com has really stood out as a great track. Love it!

4.  Miley Cyrus - I Can't Be Tamed W-3, H-2
This Miley number is down two spots but still holding strong in the top 10!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sjSG6z_13-Q

5.  Kelly Rowland - Rose Colored Glasses W-1, H-5
Kelly has released this pop song for the radio.  I'm not sure how it will do but I love her "Jordin Sparks" sound and her album looks to be very diverse.

6.  Lady Gaga - Vanity W-2, H-1

This song gets stuck in my head.  Too bad she never released it on The Fame cd.  Maybe it will make it on a soundtrack.  Until then, she does a great live performance of it in concert!

7.  Katy Perry - California Gurls W-5, H-1
This song has the most weeks on the chart.  And it's breaking records all over the world as well.

8.  Robyn - Hang With Me W-2, H-2
There are two versions of this now.  The Acoustic charted a few weeks ago.  This week I chose the faster version.  Both are great!

9.  B.o.B. featuring Rivers Cuomo - Magic W-1, H-9

I'm LOVING B.o.B. right now.  This is newest hit.  Very pop!  Love it!

10.  Ciara - Ride It featuring Ludacris W-1, H-10

This is not a super new song, but very sexy and a stand out for Ciara who hasn't had the best luck with her music career for the last few years.
