Travmo's TOP TEN SONGS July 26th to Aug. 1st, 2010

Key: W=weeks on the chart, H= higest position on the chart

Lots of New stuff on chart this week.  Here goes. Congrats to Estelle's new fantastic song FREAK from debuting on the chart at NUMBER 1!

1.  Estelle featuring Kardinal Offishall - Freak  W-1, H-1
I'm just loving this song.  It's a little bit old with a little bit new.  I think Estelle is fabulous and I love this new sound she is doing.  This could be another contender for song of the summer!

2.  Miley Cyrus - I Can't Be Tamed  W-2, H-2
This song was number 10 the first week and then it disappeared.  It's back stronger than ever as I heard it a bunch this week and people are starting to wear the bird costumes out and about!  Go Miley

3.  Enrique Iglesius featuring Pitbull - I Like It  W-1, H-3
This song is brand new and hot right now.  Enrique is back and younger looking than ever.  GREAT SONG and pefect tie in with Jersey Shore Season 2.  Such a fun song!

4.  B.o.B featuring Bruno Mars - Nothin' on You  W-1, H-4
B.o.B and Bruno Mars couldn't be hotter right now.  This song is a little old now but it's such a terrific song and hasn't yet made the charts so I felt it needed it's space on here.  Here is a live version from Jimmy Kimmel!

5.  Janelle Monae featuring Big Boi - Tightrope W-4, H-2
I decided to go with the original version this week.  Although this is the first time the song has made it on the charts in the original version, the Wondamix version has been charting the last couple weeks, and that will be added to the numbers for charting.  Great song and fun video.  Here it is:

6.  Justin Bieber featuring Usher - Somebody to Love (Remix) W-1, H- 6
Best song on the album and a fantastic video.  So much fun.  ENJOY!  But who else things that Usher is ugly. I do!

7.  Kele - Everything You Wanted W-1, H-7

8.  M.I.A. featuring Jay-Z - XXXO (remix) W-1, H-8
I love this song!  It was featured on So You Think You Can Dance and I love that she actually sounds like she is having fun on this song and not killing red heads.

9.  Lady GaGa - Boys Boys Boys W-1, H-9
This is certainly the oldest song on the chart, however it oddly got a lot of play this week.  Mainly from my roommate, but come on, I haven't had a week without at least one Gaga song!  This is a fan video that is very sexy.  Enjoy!

10.  Katy Perry featuring Snoop Dogg - California Girls W-4, H-1
Katy's new song should make it on the chart next week so I thought its a good time to add back California Gurls, my charts biggest hit so far.  Danced to it at Rplace this week!

Travmo's TOP TEN SONGS July 16-25, 2010

Key: W=weeks on the chart, H= higest position on the chart
This my fourth week of the blog and I’m loving it.  Today I’m going to give you reasons why these songs made it.  I also want to say a sad goodbye to Katy Perry’s California Gurls who oddly didn’t make the chart after spending two weeks at number 1 and then dropping down to 8.  I have a feeling that California Gurls will return OR her latest single will shoot to the top.
1.  Lady Gaga - Vanity W=1, H=1
This unreleased song is firing up the lady’s tour this summer.  It’s a fabulous romp and getting lots of attention.  Maybe she will release it with a better studio version someday.  Gaga almost didn’t get on the chart this week after being number 2 last week for her live performance of Someone To Watch Over Me/Bad Romance.  But when I remembered Vanity, I realized it was the song in my head all day long every day.  So she went from almost not making it, to being NUMBER ONE.  Here is her live performance of Vanity!
2.  Kylie Minogue - Get Outta My Way W=2, H=1
last week’s number one is Kylie’s brand new single. It’s an awesome fun song!  It’s hard to find a good sound clip of this but hopefully the video will be out soon.
3. JLS - The Club Is Alive (With The Sound Of Music) W=2, H=3
This ridiculous song just went from Number 10 to Number 3.  The silliness of adding The Sound of Music theme song to a club jam is obsurd.  But the boys are adorable and almost not getting the joke which is even sweeter.  Check out the wonderfully dumb dance moves in this live performance. This song might be around the chart for awhile if they keep up the crazy!
and a bonus interview by JLS!
4. Robyn - Dancing On My Own
Last week Robyn had two songs on the chart but they are both off to make room for her latest single, Dancing with Myself.  I actually think I might have liked this one better than the other two but Hang with Me was the song I was listening to more last week.
5.  Janelle Monae feat. B.o.B and Lupe Fiasco - Tightrope (Wondamix) = W-3, H=2

I’m loving Janelle Monae right now and this remix to Tightrope is still so cool.  I really want to buy B.o.B’s album.  I can only imagine it is fantastic.  He rocks this video!  But I also love the guitar player too with the long hair. cool dude!  For fun, I’m adding a live performance of her singing the original Tightrope song.  See below for new rules regarding remixes.
6. Kelis - 4th of July (Fireworks) W-1, H-5
This song took a week off, but it is back on my chart!  Such an awesome song and a great album.  Someone said this is her Donna Summer album…like that’s a bad thing?!
7.  Kele - Tenderoni W-1, H-7
Yay! Kele (lead singer of Bloc Party) finally makes my chart.  This song makes no sense but it’s a great song with a great video.  Here it is!
8. Kelly Rowland feat. David Guetta - Commander W-2, H-8
After a week off, Kelly takes her place back at number 8.  It will be interesting where this song goes.  Will it disappear or get bigger as the summer continues.  I heard it was number 1 on the club charts in the US and I also heard it at Rplace this week.  Go Kelly!
9. Travie McCoy feat. Bruno Mars - Billionaire W-1, H-9
I’ve like this song for awhile but it hasn’t made the chart yet until now.  I’m really happy it’s doing well.  It’s a great song and Travie and Bruno are great.  Look for Bruno’s solo to make the chart very very soon (hopefully). :D  Granted I know that I make the decisions but I only heard the song once.  It needs more play and interest for me to make the charts.  Soon, though…
10. Taio Cruz - Dynamite W-1, H-10
This song is such a fun summer song.  I can see it rockin’ the chart for awhile.  We’ll see! Here is the live version from Jimmy Kimmel Live!

RULES FOR REMIXES/LIVE VERSIONS = If a song is chosen on the chart because it is a remix and then the original version is chosen then it does NOT count as a new song.  For instance if I choose Janelle Monae’s original tighttrope then on the chart it will be considered not new.  However I can not have the remix and the original on the same week (this allows for the rule to take place).  Another example is Lady Gaga sang Someone To Watch Over You with Bad Romance during the Today show.  If Bad Romance original or remix makes it on the chart, then it is not considered new.  The live version of Someone to Watch over Me/Bad Romance and the Bad Romance original can’t chart together.  The only way a song that has charted already can be new is if a brand new artist sings the same song.  For example Glee sings Smile and Janelle Monet sing Smile.  The song depends on the artist and can chart at the same time.  Lastly, as you have seen, the same artist can chart two different songs on the same week.  It is possible for an artist to chart ten songs in one week, although unlikely.
